What will you do?
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design foundation drilling rigs and related equipment such as power packs, mast extensions, and customer-specific components. Occasionally, you will also modify existing machines and create manuals, parts books, and as-built drawings of the products. To do so, you will collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the correct information and safety requirements are included in the documentation.
Where necessary, you will select appropriate materials and components. Strong knowledge of materials and components is therefore essential. You will perform strength calculations and ensure that all designs meet the required specifications.
Customer contact is handled via the Lead Engineer and the Sales team, while you process feedback into the designs. Once the 3D modelling is completed, you will convert it into 2D production drawings. These drawings are then used in our factory to build the machine.
You will be part of a team of approximately nine dedicated engineers. The 3D modelling of large foundation machines is divided among the team, and in groups of two to three colleagues you will develop the designs in Solid Edge. The different teams coordinate closely to ensure all designs integrate correctly. Collaboration is therefore a key aspect of your role. You will experience a motivating and open working environment with excellent facilities.
